Can Life Coaching help improve Mental Health & Well-Being?
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), Mental Health is “a state of well-being in which the individual realises his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community”. The NHS states that Mental Health is about how we think, feel and behave. They state one in four people in the UK has a Mental Health problem at some point, which can affect their daily life, relationships or physical health.
According to The Cambridge Dictionary, Well-Being is the state of feeling healthy and happy. The ONS (Office of National Statistics) Reflections on Measuring National Well-Being states well-being has 10 broad dimensions which have been shown to matter most to people in the UK as identified through a national debate. The dimensions are: the natural environment, personal well-being, our relationships, health, what we do, where we live, personal finance, the economy, education and skills and governance.
